MAUI- island of lush greenery, epic sunset and local vibes. What better location to plan an elopement or wedding in. Think- warm breezes, and watching the sunset with each other and/ or celebrating with close friends and family. Many think a ‘destination’ elopement or wedding is pricier than an actual big wedding, but if done right it’s now, and will definitely be more memorable.
Drive the road to Hana for the day, exploring hidden beaches and waterfalls. Find local eats along the way, stopping for ice cream. Swim at Ho’okipa Beach, and watch the sea turtles.
It will be amazing…
Why elope?
It’s what most couples want to do, but then end up going the ‘traditional’ route because it’s what they feel like they should do, or their families want them to do. But in reality, it’s your day and it should be done your way, and what is meaningful to you!
About 75% of the couples that have a bigger wedding, end up saying they wished they eloped, somewhere at the beach, just them two or a small group of about 20.
This is where elopements are a perfect choice. It can be just you two, spending the day together, exploring the island, and saying your vows at sunset. Or include some of your close friends/ family to spend a week or weekend with you. There is so much you can do on the island, hiking, taking a boat ride, having a bonfire. This spending time together is special and will be memorable for everyone, not just the couple.
Travel Cost
-Airplane Ticket, Alaska has affordable flights from west coast cities. Flying fall-spring is usually cheaper. Fly into Kahului Airport [CDP].
-Car rental, having a car is the best to get around the island!
-Place to stay, there are so many fun places to stay on the island. We like the Paia/ Haiku area, which is the north side, the most local. Kihei/ Wailea is the south side, a mix of tourtisy/ local. The west side- Lahaina/ Napili is the most popular and most touristy, the beaches also aren’t as nice.
