Na Pali Coast, Kauai Elopement Wedding Photographer

January 28, 2017

There is something special about Hawaii- I’ve been a few times, but I am always amazed by its landscape, the greenery, the water and the mountains. As a photographer that has photographer in Kauai, here are some recommendations.

It’s a perfect spot to get married and have a small intimate wedding, or a elopment of just you two. On a recent trip, we explored the whole island, from north to south, east to west. Our favorite part is the north shore, where Hanalei is. We explored the town of Princeville, and paddle boarded the Hanalei River. The north shore, is very scenic. There is also the iconic St. Regis Hanalei Hotel, which offers stunning views.

A favorite beach on the north shore is Ke’e beach. It is near where the Na Pali coast hike starts (a must do!), and offers cliff views for days.

Heading south we explored Kapaa on the east side. A local town with cute coffee shops and restaurants. The beach isn’t very swimmable here, but we still managed to find a spot to cool down in. There is also some cool hikes to do here.

Another fun spot, and good wedding location is Poipu. Located on the southern tip of the airport, this is the main resort location. The water is calm and swimmable, which makes it popular. Entering Poipu you drive through the Tunnel of Trees, a stunning road surrounded by trees to make a magical tunnel, a fun photo opp.

Poipu offers resort for wedding or there is Kukuiolono Golf Course and Garden. A budget friendly, and stunning option, couples have opted to have their wedding at the Kukuiolono Pavilion, which offers stunning views. The location can be rented out for a small fee, and you will need to bring in your vendors.

On the last days our trip we explored Waimea Canyon State Park, and drove up to the top to Kalalau lookout, which was the most amazing view. If you get to see this, you are truly lucky, because we came back a few days later, when it was foggy and we couldn’t see anything. This would definitely be on our most see list. There is also a hike along the cliffs, which is pretty dangerous, but if you’re up for it, definitely check it out.

We loved our trip to Kauai, and have been lucky to have shot a few weddings there, which you can view here. If you’re planning a wedding in Kauai, and looking for a photographer, let’s get in touch here!
