Bahia Hotel + SUR Beach House, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

May 3, 2019

Flew to Cabo and it was our first time by the beach, and we were amazed! Early May, the crowds were sparse and the vibe and weather ideal. We stayed at Bahia Hotel in downtown Los Cabos, and were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was perfect, and design even better. The hotel had a clean, modern, chic style with a hint of mediterranean and spanish vibes. Walking around the hotel, the walls were white and open and had unique ceiling lamps throughout the entire hotel, which made us feel as if we were in the mediterranean. There are many views from the windows that look down at the pool area below.

The pool area offers a secluded spot to cool down during the day, and also offes bar service. Two blocks away is another option to cool down- SUR Beach House that overlooks Cabo’s only swimmable beach, Medano Beach. Vibes are chill, and one can view the iconic Cabo Arch from the shore. SUR has a restaurant and options to sit on the beach. SUP Cabo is also based here, where paddle board and guided tours can be booked.

Walking up to the second level of SUR, the views are amazing, ideal for a wedding ceremony overlooking the famous arch at sunset, and celebrating. Along with the Bahia Hotel and SUR, it is the ideal location for a destination wedding in Cabo.  Guests can stay at Bahia, and the wedding ceremony can be at SUR Beach House. One of the best parts of having a destination wedding, is celebrating the entire weekend with close ones, with everything close by, this would be my top choice as a wedding photographer. The design of both Bahia + Sur, would make for some stunning photos.

As for food, we mostly ate at the hotel’s restaurant- Bar Esquina. For dinner, cocktails and food was amazing, as well as the ambinance. We arrived early the day before and headed to SUR Beach House to spend a day at the beach and to get some tacos. Next day, we headed to SUR for sunset, to get some drinks and appetizers and had a romantic night at sunset. Couldn’t resist going back to Bar Esquina for some dinner, and we were treated with some live local music.

Looking forward to our next trip to Cabo, we would definitely stay at Bahia again!
